This game was adorable and fun. While I was running through looking for the honey and when I found it and started I went slowly trying not to wake up the queen bee and when I did my first instinct was "RUN FOR YOUR LIFEEEEE" and I was also hitting at her while running just incase.

In general VERY Fun game.

Cute game. I liked the end(after I realized it wasn't a boss fight and I was supposed to run lol), heres some feedback

1)The players attack has a very small range but the player is really fast, which makes it very hard to land hits safely. I'd maybe slow the player down a bit and expand the sword hitbox.

2)The sword hitbox also doesn't seem to move with the player, making it hard to use while moving. Look what happens when you walk towards the cursor while attacking, the sword slash is basically inside the player sprite. If you walk away from the cursor while attacking, the sword slash is really far behind the player. Maybe it would be better to have the sword slash hitbox be attached to the player and move with them, a consistent distance away from them

3)I liked that the enemies have their moves telegraphed, and that the ranged enemy doesnt damage you for touching it, which avoids some of the combat issues i stated above.

4) The art and music overall are very nice, especially the menu, good job

5)Could have implemented the theme a bit better, for example the firefly could have moved towards the exit doorways after collecting the honey at the end, which would make it more obvious that the player has to run away(though the tutorial did hint at this Ill give you credit), while also giving more purpose to the firefly. Maybe you could've leaned a bit more on the firefly being your only light source, so everything outside of the firefly radius is basically invisible but make the light much brighter to compensate

6)The slowdown on hit effect is cool, but maybe lasts just a little too long in my opinion

Good job overall!

I was also relieved that the ranged enemy didn't deal contact damage. It's the melee one that's tough to kill.

Thank you for the feedback. I agree that I could have implemented the jam's theme better or improved the combat's flaws, such as the sword's hitbox.
